Presenter & News Anchor 

An experienced Presenter/Anchor is required by our international news client delivering live and recorded segments for an international output.

As a Presenter you are to be the face of the daily shows. Your role is to inform the international audience by presenting information in an accessible way. Working closely with Senior Producers and Producers, you will present ideas for the daily output and interpret and present news stories so that viewers can understand them and remain engaged.  

The role:


• Present scheduled shows on the company's television and digital platforms as well as hosting ad hoc programmes/projects or remote and in-person events.
• Conduct interviews and where necessary pre-interviews both live and pre-recorded, on set and on location.
• Research topics and background information, pitch ideas, write and amend scripts, liaise with other members of the editorial teams.
• Manage breaking news with ease, liaise with on-air producers and gallery staff, and conduct live interviews.
• Deliver live reports to air with fluency and authority across all broadcast and digital platforms.
• Be proficient in writing and structuring news packages in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment.
• Contribute to news production by pitching stories, writing scripts and questions for air, and helping set the editorial agenda.
• Conceive and execute ideas for content tailor-made for digital and social media platforms.
• Perform to the highest professional standards both in the studio and on location, in both presenting and reporting capacities.
• Represent the channel either as a moderator or speaker at third party events, forums and conferences as required.
• Play a team role, with a collaborative approach to producing the highest quality output. This can include identifying and eliminating errors, offering feedback and coaching for colleagues where appropriate.
• Ability to work in a multicultural newsroom alongside team with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Represent the network in a professional manner at all times, whether on air or in interactions on social media or other publicly accessible platforms.
• Be prepared to travel on assignment across the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Requirements:


• At least 10 years of experience as a broadcast and digital news correspondent or presenter with an international media organization.
• Extensive knowledge of current events, geopolitics, and international relations, especially across and within Europe and Asia.
• Experience of reporting/presenting European, Chinese, and international news to a general audience in a clear and compelling way and experience of conducting compelling, news-making interviews, have a wide network of contacts for use as high-profile guests on our news programmes.

• Have a proven history of breaking stories and generating distinctive content for the daily news agenda.
• Have experience of presenting/reporting for both general and business news, and an ability to make complex issues understandable to an international audience.
• Have a track record of embracing the digital world and new technology.
• Attention to detail, an excellent eye for selecting both picture and words.
• Hands on, actively involved in the production workflow.
• Fluency in English and at least one European language.
• Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field is preferred.
• Punctual and reliable.
